Meeting in session!

With the new upcoming project in line, we were to gather and come up with as much as 20 different themes.

I think I'm in the middle of pitching an idea.. *crazy hands*

The excitement in the room was so strong, ideas were formed even before words had a chance,
if they were solid, we would literally be hurling these chunks of imagination around the room
and no one could stop us.

hahaha.

But seriously, we were so noisy!

I came up with "illusions"

The themes we came up with ranged from as mild as patriotisme, lake gardens, to as extravagant as outer space, candyland and jurassic park.

Then, with the help of facebook's voting system, we narrowed it down to 6 themes.
A group of sketchers and writers will be appointed to each theme & proposals were to be drawn out & presented to Ms. Lisa for finalization.

While Hui Yu was sketcher, I was a writer for the chosen theme Jurassic Park & here are our ideas:

Ideas brought to life

 Hui Yu's awesome awesome sketches!

Buuut,  because of the time frame, we had to think about practicality and aim for something more achievable.
You could say, we were too enthusiastic and ambitious.

After discussing further with Ms. Lisa + the whole class, we agreed on the theme:

MALAYSIA.

& since m'sia day & Independance day was coming up, it would be great to join in!

Exciting news!

We sat down for an important announcement from Ms. Lisa.

It's about a project which - this time 'round - is larger in scale and will be requiring the whole class to be working together! It'll also be involving the help of other batches in foundation/design school!

THIS IS HUGE NEWS..!

- but what is it about??
Well, we're not too sure yet; since the theme and composition is all up to us *cries in joy*
and guess what??

*drumrolls*

It's gonna be in the lake.

A floating exhibiton.

In the lake.

OUR, floating exhibition, in. the. lake.

.... I need a moment.

Self-portrait : Our first class!

So for our very first class this semester, instead of being given homework, we had a little class activity.

Ms. Lisa told us it was to be a self-portrait made from anything & gave us an hour and a half to explore around campus for inspiration and raw materials..

Personally, I don't find myself similar to leaves or flowers so therefore, tried but failed with flora as the main subject in my "portrait".

I started thinking about how I can't be defined in just one word & remembered the many sides of a hanging mobile when blown in the wind. And so, with that I had my inspiration to make something of a similar nature.. Showing off the different sides to me and my interests.

Example of an origami mobile, when turning shows its different sides

Main inspiration for my self-portrait

In my self-portrait, I included my love for sun & sea, my hopes & dreams, along with traits of myself.
